On Saturday February 18th, the USA came to play that Canadian Senior Men’s National team. The game, along with past three others Canada has played, is apart of the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship. Bill Chamberlain, Mike Stiles, and Jonathan Mergui chauffeured a St. George’s fan bus to go out to Swangard stadium and watch the game.

The game was a high scoring affair with an ecstatic crowd. Although the Canadians lost, the fans were in high spirits after the many plays of great rugby the home side had. Taylor Paris (#11) had a great take on a highball that not only won the Canadians possession, but also a penalty. The youngest member of the team, George Barton (also A Shawinigan Lake School graduate), scored a superb try after recovering a chip kick from fly half Robbie Povey.
